If you’re like me, you hate to hear how “the weather is finally getting cooler” or how “pretty the changing leaves are” or “are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!?!” OK, I’ll admit, I do like seeing the leaves change, but I miss the beach and the pool. I figured I’d reach out to my co-workers and see what fun things they do to celebrate the autumn season.
Bonnie (Exton Office) told me about events that happen in Chadds Ford, PA. There’s a Great Pumpkin Carve event in October featuring many artists on Thursday carving HUGE pumpkins that are then lit up for people to check out Friday and Saturday, all while enjoying the food and entertainment!
Another popular suggestion was to go to a corn maze…..just don’t get lost! Deb (Lititz Operations Center) told me about Duncan’s Corn Maze in Robesonia . Duncan’s offers a maze, crazy hay ride (with a surprise stop along the way) and if you have a party there, you can have a doggie roast by the campfire. And Deb says: “Don’t forget the marshmallows!”
Claudia (Lititz Operations Center) and Ericka (Rouzerville Financial Center) said Cherry Crest Farm also has a cool “Maize” Maze. They have other events during the season as well like Pumpkin Madness and a fall festival. And that’s not to mention all the other activities they have year round!
I’ve also been told about Orr’s Farm Market in Martinsburg, WV. They have Fall Fun Days that include pumpkin picking, hayrides, bonfires, a herd of buffalo and great entertainment. (Not to mention all the other events they have all year long!)
With all these fun things to do this season, maybe fall will become MY favorite season! What are your favorite fall destinations or events? Let’s all work together and try to help me “fall” in love with autumn!
